Accessibility Statement

National Communication Association’s Commitment to Accessibility

The National Communication Association (NCA) is dedicated to providing inclusive digital experiences for all visitors to our website. We align with the social model of disability, as described by the World Health Organization, which emphasizes that disability arises from a mismatch between a person’s abilities and the environments they navigate. At NCA, we strive to create a digital space that fosters meaningful and equitable engagement for individuals across a broad range of abilities.

Conformance Status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) provide a framework for improving the accessibility of digital content for people with disabilities. These guidelines are categorized into three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. The National Communication Association is fully conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards and is dedicated to furthering our accessibility efforts as new technologies and best practices emerge.

A Note to Our Community

We encourage members of NCA and other organizations to consider developing their own accessibility statement in line with the guidance from the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). Tailoring a statement that reflects your organization’s unique commitment to inclusivity while adhering to the principles of the W3C Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) is vital.
