Get to Know NCA’s National Office Staff: Meet Wendy Fernando

Wendy Fernando is NCA’s Director of External Affairs and Publications. Wendy leads the Department of External Affairs and Publications, which produces Spectra, NCA Inside & Out, Communication Matters: The NCA Podcast, and NCA’s website, social media, and media relations content. She also works closely with NCA’s publishing partner, Taylor & Francis, serving as internal publisher of NCA’s 11 scholarly journals. She enjoys international travel, reading, Scrabble, and being a new grandma.
Wendy holds a B.S. in Journalism from the University of Maryland and has more than 30 years of experience in higher education association publishing, communications, and program development. She spent more than 17 years with the American Council on Education, as Director of Publications and Director of the Annual Meeting Program. Immediately prior to joining NCA, Wendy was Vice President of Communications and Marketing for the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine.
