NCA Public Program: “Communicating About Climate”
On September 19, NCA will hold “Communicating About Climate,” a public program focused on the role communication plays in educating, informing, and persuading publics about climate change. Panelists will also discuss obstacles to communicating about this global issue, from climate change denial to divergent values and attitudes about climate change.
Co-sponsored by the University of Montana Department of Communication Studies and the University of Montana Climate Change Studies, the program will be held on the University of Montana campus and will feature the following communication and climate experts: Amy Cilimburg, Executive Director, Climate Smart Missoula; Matthew Frank, Fellow in Regional Journalism, O’Connor Center for the Rocky Mountain West; Peter McDonough, Climate Change Studies Program Coordinator, University of Montana; Nick Mott, Producer, Threshold; and Steve Schwarze, Professor, Department of Communication Studies and Director, Climate Change Studies Program, University of Montana.
