Arnyae Neal Joins NCA as Director of Membership and Member Services
WASHINGTON—The National Communication Association (NCA) is pleased to announce the selection of Arnyae Neal as Director of Membership and Membership Services. To her new role, she brings more than a decade of association experience with expertise in marketing, membership, member development, and member engagement. Neal most recently was the Director of Marketing and Membership Development for the Independent Beauty Association.
She enjoys the complexities of membership and creating innovative strategies to recruit, retain, and engage members. But Neal says it is that personal communication and engagement with prospective and current members that she enjoys most. According to Neal, such opportunities are not only essential to her work, but critical to the decisions people make about whether to join an organization or renew their membership.
“Arnyae’s deep interest in member engagement and track record of success in association membership, including recruitment and retention, excites us and will help open new doors as we work to advance NCA’s mission and new strategic plan,” said NCA Executive Director Shari Miles-Cohen.
Neal’s previous positions include Director of Membership and Marketing for the American Bar Association’s Tax Section, Senior Membership Manager for the American Pharmacists Association, Membership Marketing Manager for the American Public Health Association, and Marketing and Communications Associate for the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography. She is an active member of the American Society of Association Executives and is working toward her Certified Association Executive certification.
“I’m thrilled to join the National Communication Association, a world leader in the discipline, and am eager to get to know and support our communication scholars, practitioners, and student members,” Neal said.
Neal holds a bachelor’s in brand management and marketing from North Carolina State University and earned both a master’s and MBA from the University of Maryland. She is also pursuing a doctorate in business administration with a concentration in marketing from Walden University. Neal began her role at the NCA National Office on May 22.
