Announcing NCA’s Executive Director, Justin Danowski

Dear NCA Members,

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Justin Danowski as the Executive Director of the National Communication Association, effective October 1, 2024. 

Justin has been an integral part of NCA since 2012, serving in various roles that have demonstrated his leadership and commitment to our organization. Over the years, he has held several key positions, including Academic and Professional Affairs Associate, Membership Manager, Governance Director, and most recently, Interim Executive Director. As Executive Director, Justin will be responsible for the overall management and leadership of the National Office staff. He will also work closely with the Executive Committee to advance NCA’s mission of fostering a better world through the advancement of Communication scholarship, teaching, and practice.

Born and raised in Macomb, Illinois, Justin holds an M.A. in Communication from Eastern Illinois University and a B.A. in Communication from the University of Illinois. Outside of his work with NCA, he is actively involved with the Smithsonian Institution, the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, and George Washington’s Mount Vernon.

Justin is committed to engaging with NCA members, improving internal structures and practices, and fostering a transparent, diverse, and thriving organization. I am confident that under his leadership, NCA will continue to grow and thrive and I am excited to witness NCA’s future. Please join me in welcoming Justin to his new role.
